FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves recording lens image and building its picture on computer monitor display unit. Initial lens image is transformed to monochrome image by applying combined color filter. Usable filter allows separate color canals brightness to be passed or removed. Then red, green and blue color tints brightness is determined on the central optical eye axis in the anterior and posterior nucleus half and in posterior cortical layers before and after applying color filter. Difference between brightness values is calculated before and after applying color filter. The produced values are used to estimate lens nucleus density and cataract maturity degree.
EFFECT: simplified procedure; high quality of the procedure.
