FIELD: medicine, in particular, traumatology and orthopedics.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has Shantz' screws adapted for introduction into vertebrae and vertebra retainers connected with said screws through clamps. Vertebra retainers are made in the form of two flexible supports-poles, each made in the form of construction composed of tubular members defining distractor and contractor sections and connected with one another through two cables adapted for tightening and directed through inner openings in tubular members. Distractor section tubular members are provided with inner threaded openings for receiving of connecting pins equipped with inner holes for cables. Screws are rigidly connected with one another in horizontal plane of related vertebrae by means of tension rods and clamps mounted on tubular members. Clamps in contractor sections may be moved on cables in conjunction with tubular members and clamps in distractor sections are positioned for displacement on tubular members and rotation around horizontal axis. Tubular members of distractor and contractor are of different height. Apparatus allows pathological spine curvature induced by scoliotic disease to be eliminated by fixing vertebrae in outer fixation apparatus without dissecting soft tissues up to vertebrae. Correction of vertebrae deformation is performed gradually by closed reposition method.

EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency in treating of spine scoliosis.
