FIELD: packing equipment, particularly for wrapping stacked printed items.
SUBSTANCE: method for wrapping stack 1 of printed items having thickened edges fully covered with wrapping material 4 involves pushing stack of items from storage 20 into which items were stacked in direction parallel to thickened edges extensions due to stack instability in direction perpendicular to thickened edges extension; placing stack of printed items onto bearing fork 12 installed in pushing position with stack guiding only by side and face guiding means; compressing stack 1between bearing fork and pressing fork 13 moved onto bearing fork; moving stack in direction perpendicular to thickened edge extension together with forks to wrapping position along with at least partly removing guiding means 10/10', 11/11' such that wrapping material 4 covers side stack surfaces and thickened edges 3 thereof.
EFFECT: increased packing speed, possibility of successive wrapping stacks of different height.
