SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of and machine 1 for wrapping elongated article 2, mainly in form of parallelepiped, with two bases at opposite longitudinal ends. Article is gripped by its bases by transportation head 6 continuously moved by conveyor 7 along trajectory P1 of wrapping along first section of which wrapping material sheet 3 is bent into U-shaped around article 2, and along second section of which wrapping material sheet 3 is additionally bent and is strengthened to form tubular wrap 10. Transportation head 6 is moved relative to conveyor 7 to provide contact of wrapping material sheet 3 on second section of trajectory P1 of wrapping with at least one stationary (passive) device 58, 61 acting onto sheet 3 to form tubular wrap 10.
EFFECT: simplified design, provision of continuous wrapping of article.
