FIELD: regeneration of activated carbon with use of electric heating of coal, possibly in starch and syrup, sugar making industry branches for regeneration of waste activated granulated carbon used for absorption type purification of sugar solutions.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes charging hopper, stationary and movable electrodes arranged one inside another and forming regeneration zone; unit for discharging regenerated carbon; unit for removing gases out of regeneration zone, unit for holding red hot carbon and for removing remaining gases. Stationary electrode is in the form of cylinder with inner funnel-shaped recess. Movable electrode is in the form of cone arranged inside stationary one with gap between them. Movable electrode may be moved in vertical plane along axis. Unit for discharging gases out of regeneration zone is in the form of chamber placed in lower part of hopper and separated from cavity of hopper by means of perforated partition. Guiding flap is arranged over said partition. The last is arranged with gap relative to stationary electrode for gas removal. Under electrodes there is unit for holding regenerated carbon and for removing remaining gases; said unit has chamber in which perforated tube is placed with formation of annular gap.
EFFECT: improved system for removing gases, enhanced efficiency of regenerating adsorption properties of granulated carbon.
