Abstract RU 2230919 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering; four-stroke opposed-piston engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed engine contains cylinder block with piston moving in each cylinder opposite to each other, and rods. Mechanism for converting reciprocating motion of pistons into rotary motion of shaft is made in form of two drums fitted on shaft and provided with curvilinear channels, two sliding units for each rod, and fixed side segments. Piston rods are installed in sliding supports. One of rod sliding unit is arranged in curvilinear channel of movable drum, and the other, in channel of fixed segment made parallel to cylinder axis. Heat exchangers for heating water are arranged in middle part of cylinders and devices for water injection are also arranged in said part of cylinders.

EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced specific mass and overall dimensions, provision of dynamic balancing of engine moving parts.
