FIELD: testing and measurement technology; check of oil and gas equipment for tightness.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in observation of pipe line by means of route finder by flight of low-altitude flying vehicle at simultaneous scanning of pipe line with the aid of adjusted infra-red image and TV sensors and digital filtration of signals of locator, infra-red image and TV sensors; used as route finder are three additional locators of at different lengths of waves; transceiving antennae of four locators are located at tips of helicopter main rotor blades; signals received by these antennae are processed by algorithm of synthetic aperture; indicative of gas of liquid leaks is local drop of temperature recorded by infra-red image sensor and information received radar and TV sensor; depth of pipe line is determined by color of image on display screen.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of location of leakage.
