FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: path of pipe-line is flown around on low-altitude flying vehicle, for instance, helicopter. Path of pipe-line is surveyed with the aid of location station of meter range to find position of pipe-line lying. Pipe-line is simultaneously scanned by means of adjusted infrared and television sensors. Joint digital processing of signals of censors is carried out. EFFECT: improved authenticity of remote detection of leaks in pipe-line.
