FIELD: procedure of radio measurements, applicable for measurement of parameters of antenna or their modules in a conducting medium.

SUBSTANCE: the device for measurement of antenna parameters in a conducting medium has a chamber of TEN-waves connected to a signal generator and loaded to a matched load, communication line connecting the antenna under test to a detector. A dielectric reservoir with a conducting medium is installed above the opening of an external conductor of the chamber of TEM-waves positioned in a screen electrically connected to the external conductor of TEM-waves around the edges. An opening is made in the upper part of the reservoir for inlet of the antenna under test to the reservoir and passage of the communication line from the antenna to the detector. The inner geometric dimensions of the reservoir with the conducting medium have a value of at least three skin layers in the conducting medium at the lower frequency of the range of measurement. An additional opening matched with the opening of the external conductor of the chamber of TEM-waves is made in the lower part of the screen. The antenna under test is located in the conducting medium in the central volume of the reservoir.

EFFECT: provided measurements of the antenna parameters in a plane electromagnetic field.
