FIELD: data accumulation.
SUBSTANCE: optical storage medium has substrate made of glass, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, and acrylate base resin having roughness structure with track-to-track space of 0.3 - 0.4 μm and groove depth of 50 - 800 Angstroms. Formed on substrate is reflecting layer made of aluminum, nickel, copper, platinum, silver, or gold, 500 - 2000 Angstroms in thickness; first insulating layer formed on reflecting layer and made of Si3N4 or ZnZ-SiO2, 100 - 400 Angstroms in thickness; recording layer formed on first insulating layer and made of TbFeCo, NdTbFeCo, or TbFe, 150 - 400 Angstroms in thickness; second insulating later formed on recording layer and made of Si3N4 0r ZnS-SiO2, 300 - 800 Angstroms in thickness; protective layer formed on second insulating layer and made of optically transparent inorganic material or organic material, its thickness being 5 - 100 μm; and lubricating film formed on protective layer, 1 - 3 nm thick, that does not enter in chemical reaction with protective layer.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of data storage.
