FIELD: wood-working industry.

SUBSTANCE: mechanical plane comprises housing, cutting head, and back bearing unit. The cutting head is mounted for permitting movement with respect to the housing in the vertical plane and locking in the intermediate position. The housing is provided with two symmetrical grooves that are open from below and receive appropriate bearing units for the cutting head.

EFFECT: improved design.
