FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in cooling systems of engine operating at below-zero temperatures to facilitate starting from cold and heating of liquid to normal operating temperature, and under conditions when standard cooling system of internal combustion engine cannot provide normal temperature conditions which leads to overcooling. Proposed heater contains two string heating members coaxially arranged in middle part of heater housing and swirl chamber arranged in heater cover and communicating with housing space through peripheral holes. Liquid getting from cover into heater housing two times passes through zone of mounting of heating members: first moving downwards the housing, and then upwards with turning through 180o, to heater outlet. Depending on required conditions of liquid heating, first and second heating members furnished with isolated, terminals provide combined or separate power supply of heating members. Supply system is made to single circuit.
EFFECT: improved efficiency in operation, simplified design, provision of uniform heating and reliability.
