FIELD: internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of preheating of internal combustion engines, diesel engines included, its systems and chassis transmission units of any type when engines are operated at below zero temperatures. According to proposed method clamps installed on electric conducting elements of engine, its systems, chassis transmission units and pipelines in contact with cooling liquid, fuel and oil materials and compressed air of brake system, and elements of construction are connected by these clamps with current source through converter of current into pulses. Amplitude, duration and on-off time ratio of current pulses at converter output and full time of current flow are determined and set in converter by values of masses of internal combustion engine, its systems, chassis transmission units, cooling liquid, fuel and oil materials and compressed air and by required value of heating, i.e. by temperature required for normal starting of internal combustion engine. EFFECT: reduced time required for heating, cut down consumption of energy for normal starting of internal combustion engine and for setting into motion of chassis transmission units. 1 dwg
