METHOD FOR REGULATING VOLTAGE OF DIESEL-LOCOMOTIVE AUXILIARY AC GENERATOR Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2231911 C2

FIELD: railway transport; voltage regulation for auxiliary ac generator.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method intended to ensure power supply to field winding of traction generator and diesel-locomotive power mains from single minimal-power and reduced-voltage auxiliary generator involves self-excitation of auxiliary generator, measurement and normalization of voltage across auxiliary generator output, voltage supply from the latter through one controlled rectifier to input of traction generator field winding, measurement and normalization of current through traction generator field winding, voltage supply to locomotive supply mains power circuits through other controlled rectifier, measurement and normalization of locomotive supply mains voltage; in the process normalized signals of supply mains voltage and traction generator field winding current are compared, maximal value is separated and taken as auxiliary generator setting voltage which is compared with measured and normalized voltage across auxiliary generator; comparison result is amplified and supplied to input of controlled rectifier for exciting auxiliary generator.

EFFECT: greatly reduced control angles of rectifier feeding traction generator field windings and diesel locomotive supply mains.
