SHUT-OFF ADJUSTING VALVE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of fittings, shut-off adjusting valves in particular for pipe lines handling steam, water and other gases and liquids.

SUBSTANCE: proposed valve has body with inlet and outlet holes for working medium, seat with sealed surface, gland chamber, stack of gland rings with washer, main bush, pressure member and stem connected with handle and shut-off member having spherical sealed surface. Lower part of stem has end-piece which is connected with hole of shut-off member. This hole is provided with circular bore for mounting locking member and flat located inside hole of shut-off member perpendicularly relative to its axis. Locking member is made in form of group of balls received by circular groove of hole of shut-off member; they are connected with circular belt-type elastic member having axially parallel split. Elastic member is received by circular bore found on end-piece of lower part of stem. This bottom part of end stepped bore of stem has spherical shape. Mounted in larger stage of end part is elastic member made in form of washer. Hole of washer is connected with ball located coaxially and mounted at clearance relative to bottom part of circular bore. Hole of shut-off member is provided with chamfer for balls. Width of circular bore of end part of stem exceeds diameter of balls of locking members.

EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability of valve at high temperature and pressure; reduced effort required for rotation of stem.
