FIELD: radar technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive radar and can be used to determine the coordinates and parameters of the motion of ground (surface) radio emission sources (RES) using radio intelligence equipment (RIE) installed on board an aircraft. The expected result is achieved by measuring in the onboard navigation sensor of the aircraft’s own coordinates and velocity projections in the normal terrestrial coordinate system (NTCS), high-precision measurement in the on-board RIE equipment of the carrier frequency of the received signals of the observed RES, discrete nonlinear filtering of the vector of parameters of the RES state, including its horizontal coordinates, velocity projections in the NTCS, as well as the carrier frequency of the emitted signals, by converting the parameters of the state of the RES into indirect estimates of the range to the source of radio emissions and the rate of approach to it.
EFFECT: providing the ability to determine the coordinates and parameters of the motion of ground (surface) RES with unknown parameters of antenna radiation patterns, regardless of their mode of operation using on-board RIE equipment with a weakly directional small-sized antenna system.
