SUBSTANCE: invention describes a pharmaceutical composition used for treatment of acute pain by sublingual administration. The composition comprises fentanyl anhydrous microparticles mixture or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt and an agent enhancing bioadhesion and/or mucoadhesion. Fentanyl microparticles are attached to a carrier particles surface. The size of carrier particles is larger than that of fentanyl particles and they are water-soluble and have an average size less 750 mcm. Invention relates also to a method for treatment of acute pain by sublingual administration of indicated pharmaceutical composition. The application of the new composition provides the administration of small doses of fentanyl owing to risk of adverse effects in the patient body is diminished as well as the variability of therapeutic response among patients also.
