FIELD: communication systems.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method can be used for controlling transmission power of backward link in service transfer area by means of user's device that establishes communications with node B using fast choice circuit for cell. User's device saves transmission power control instructions received within definite time length from plurality of cells in active set provided this user's device is included in service transmission area in the course of communications with best current cell. If next best cell is chosen out of plurality of cells, user's device evaluates transmission power offset by comparing transmission power control instructions arriving from current best cell with those coming from next best cell to determine time interval between moment of change of current best cell by next best cell. User's device makes transmission at initial transmission power for next best cell at transmission power level determined including transmission power offset.

EFFECT: provision for transmission power control while changing best cell during communications in fast cell choice mode.
