METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF SYNTHESIS GAS FROM WATER-AND-CARBON SUSPENSION Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: heat processing of carbon into synthesis gas; heat-power engineering; generation of heat and electric power; chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preparation and gasifying of water-and-carbon suspension. Gasifying of water-and-carbon suspension is performed at two stages: first stage is performed in vertical counter-flow tubular heat exchanger of gasifying column and second stage is performed in super-high frequency reactor. Preparation of water-and-carbon suspension is performed through dispersion of carbon in aqua phase to sizes of particles of solid phase of 10-30 mcm at mass concentration of organic part of carbon in water-and-carbon suspension of 32-48%. At first stage of gasifying, water-and-carbon suspension thus obtained is directed at pressure of 0.5-10 Mpa to heat exchanger of gasifying column where it is heated to temperature of 800-1000 K for forming vapor-gas-carbon suspension which is directed to steam-jet mill for fine grinding of particles of solid phase at size of carbon particles lesser than 1-3 mcm. Then, vapor-gas-carbon suspension is fed to second stage to super-high frequency reactor where it is heated to 800-1000 K for production of synthesis gas. Then, synthesis gas thus obtained is cooled in heat exchanger of gasifying column by means of water-and-carbon suspension and is cleaned from ballasted agents by means of water used for preparation of water-and-and carbon suspension.
