FIELD: strength tests; estimation of strength and ductility of metals and alloys at stressed state and dynamic loads.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device has housing with anvil and stepped cylindrical punch arranged inside it for axial displacement; housing is provided with stepped cylindrical bore whose lower end forms additional anvil; upper end face of punch is received by bore for axial displacement. Upper end face of punch forms together with cylindrical bore two communicating chambers filled with fluid medium and sealed by striker in the course of loading; lower stepped end face of punch is supported by upper end faces of specimens under test and lower free end face of punch is connected with additional cylindrical specimen being freely upset; housing of device is provided with additional bores for escape of air from cavity formed by lower free end face of punch and additional anvil of housing.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement of strength and ductility of metals and alloys; facilitated procedure of testing.
