FIELD: heavy-current high-voltage electronics; pumping self-terminating lasers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed generator that functions to produce high-voltage pulses of nanosecond length at repetition rate of up to 20 kHz has energy store depletion modulator in the form of hydrogen thyratron and long peaking discharge tube placed in metal screen to form coaxial system whose wave impedance equals load resistance, mentioned tube being inserted between energy store and load.
EFFECT: enhanced stability of generated pulse parameters.
