FIELD: fiber optics; production of single-mode fiber splitters.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with light-guiding fiber and may be used at manufacturing the single-mode fiber splitters keeping polarization of emission, isotropic splitters with stable factors of division of optical power at excitation by emission with the arbitrary state of polarization of emission. The technical task of the invention is to decrease losses of the optical power of emission transmitted in the light-guiding cable cores of a twin-core lighting guide, and also guiding the light-guiding cores into separate cones of the light guides located at the input of the section of the twin-core light guide and at its output. For manufacture of a twin-core single-mode light guide in the beginning they choose a rod made out of a quartz glass. Then on its lateral surface a semicircular groove with 1-2 mm depth and width is cut. The rod is placed inside a support quartz tube and they are melted. Then they make pickling a through hole, insert there a light guide billet and melt it in a solid bar billet. After that they manufacture the second rod billet. The rods-billets are drawn till their diameter is less than 8 mm and grind them up to the half of the diameter. On a flat surface of the rods the grooves are cut. The rods flat surfaces are aligned, put inside the support tube, melted and drawn as the light guides.
EFFECT: the invention allows to decrease losses of the optical power of emission transmitted in the light-guiding cable cores of the twin-core lighting guides.
