FIELD: measurement engineering, in particular, measurement of radiophysical characteristics of radio wave absorbing coatings.

SUBSTANCE: radio wave irradiation of specimens of radio wave absorbing coatings and a metal plate of similar dimensions is performed by superbandwidth signals, time signals reflected from these specimens are recorded and with due account made for them, with the aid of a discrete Fourier conversion, the spectral densities of signals reflected from radio wave absorbing coating and metal plate is divided into a set of frequency bands, the phase characteristics of spectral densities and in each band are approximated by linear functions, the respective lags of frequency composite signals are determined by their slopes, coherent summation of spectral densities densities and is conducted with due account made for the phase shifts, their mean values of and are found, and the radio wave reflectivity of the radio wave absorbing coating in the frequency superbandwidth is determined from formula .

EFFECT: provided measurements in the frequency superbandwidth and enhanced accuracy and operativeness of measurement of radio wave absorbing coatings as compared with the existing methods.
