FIELD: nuclear engineering; gamma-ray units for radiation processing of materials.

SUBSTANCE: active section of source has at least one europium base absorbing element of nuclear reactor regulating unit irradiated in nuclear reactor up to injuring dose on shell by not over 100 shifts per atom. Absorbing element is made in the form of rod and placed in additional shell. Rods incorporated in active section are disposed over triangular lattice provided constant ratio of exposure dose rate with respect to rod to specific activity of europium-152, 154 radionuclide activity is maintained between 0.6 and 0.7; Rods are mounted in pressurized case.

EFFECT: reduced cost and maintenance charges for polymerizing synthetic materials, decontaminating waste waters, and the like.
