FIELD: manufacture of nuclear filters.
SUBSTANCE: method includes irradiation of polymeric tape with heavy charged particles followed by irradiation with ultraviolet rays and etching. In the process polymeric tape is moving perpendicular to charged particle beam while tape motion speed is synchronized with charged particle flux density. Device implementing this method has irradiation unit, tape drive incorporating hold-down rollers, drive shaft, two shafts with polymeric tape stretched between them, and tape drive actuator, as well as assembly for synchronizing polymeric tape motion speed with charged particle flux density that incorporates charged particle current collector, ion current amplifier, and unit for setting tape drive motion speed. Proposed device makes it possible to manufacture nuclear filters characterized in uniform distribution of cylindrical voids throughout surface area of polymeric material being irradiated.
EFFECT: improved quality of filter.
