CHARGE FOR PRODUCTION OF MINERAL WOOL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of building materials; preparation of charge for production of mineral wool.

SUBSTANCE: charge has the following composition, mass-%: wastes of mineral wool production process at size of particles lesser than 7 mm, 75-86; coal dust at size of particles lesser than 0.071 mm, 10-19; water glass, 4-6; LS or PVS, 0.5-1.0 mass-% of mass of wastes. Process of preparation of charge includes the following stages: proportioning, preliminary preparation of components of charge and mixing and molding the charge in briquettes. Preliminary preparation consists in parallel treatment of regulus by 1-% solution of surfactant in the amount of 0.5-1 mass-% and coal dust by 30-% solution of water glass in amount of 4-6% of total weighed portion. Each component is mixed during 0.5-1 min, after which components are additionally mixed for 1-2 min and are compacted by standard method. Briquettes thus made are dried for 10-15 min by blowing with hot air.

EFFECT: increased rate of solidification of briquettes; enhanced mechanical strength; waste-free technology; reduced power requirements.
