FIELD: manufacture of building materials; production of porous artificial articles; production of granulated heat-insulating material, light filler for concretes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preparation of high-modulus water glass from micro-silica suspension in sodium hydroxide solution at atmospheric pressure, hydro-thermal treatment of suspension at temperature of 95 C continued for 10 min for obtaining high-modulus water glass followed by heat treatment of granules at temperature of 350-400 C for swelling of granules. High-modulus water glass obtained during hydro-thermal treatment is cooled to temperature 18-20 C on plate conveyer equipped with water jacket; from conveyer material is fed to crushing sorting plant; heat treatment of technological crushed granules is performed in drying drum for 10 min.
EFFECT: correction of technological process; reduced duration of heat treatment; reduced power requirements.
