FIELD: ecological monitoring, in particular, analysis of toxic compounds.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing samples; separating into filtrate and sediment; providing thin-film chromatography, diametric gel-electrophoresis; registering analysis results by means of luminous cellular structures; determining characteristic RF parameters by parameters of luminescence inhibition spots; identifying toxic agents in sample under test by comparing measured RF parameters with similar RF parameters of toxic agent database formed for basic groups of toxic agents and individual pollutants for at least two systems of solvents. Apparatus has measuring chamber for placing of chromatographic or electrophoretic plate under analysis, TV camera connected with image processing, analysis and control units. Measuring chamber has device for applying of luminous cellular structures onto surface of plate under analysis. Image processing unit has unit for separating, in each frame of plate surface image, of inhibition spots of bioluminescence of cellular structures and for measuring RF parameters of said spots. Analysis unit has toxic agent identification unit and RF toxic agent parameter database.

EFFECT: versatile method and apparatus providing reduced analysis time.
