FIELD: medicine, hematology, clinical laboratory diagnosis.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing blood smear, its staining by Leuschman, measurement of maximal longitudinal and transverse overall sizes of A and B and the following parameters are determined for each erythrocyte: coefficient of number eccentricity of form: volume: thickness: erythrocyte surface square: Sij = 2πbi(bi + arc sin εij) and values Vij, Sij and Ti are determined for erythrocytes with value εthreshold > 0. Identification of subpopulations of erythrocytic system is carried out by entrapment of values of calculated indices to non-crossing three-dimensional regions of values determined for each population: A ± ΔµM; ± ΔµM; ± ΔµM; B ± ΔµH; ± ΔµH; ± ΔµH; C ± ΔµM; ± ΔµM; ± ΔµM wherein A, B and C mean regions of indices for micro- normo- and macrocytes, respectively; aj means a long ellipse semiaxis; bi means a short ellipse semiaxis; and mean average values of volume, surface square and thickness for micro-, normo- and macrocytes, respectively, determined under physiological conditions; ΔµM, ΔµH, ΔµM mean parameters determining boundary lines of non-crossing regions. Amount of measurements is selected based on the pre-assigned probability for correct identification of subpopulations of erythrocytic system. This allows carrying out the more precision prognosis in development of adaptation processes in body at the expense of detection of qualitative alteration in erythrocyte subpopulations.
