FIELD: high-current switching equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-current switching equipment and can be used to generate megaampere current pulses in inductive loads with a rise time of less than a microsecond. The method consists in breaking the primary discharge circuit of the source of electrical energy using an electroexplosive current breaker (EECB) and connecting the secondary load circuit by means of electrical breakdown of the solid-state insulation of the closing switch when the EECB is triggered. The working body of the EECB is placed in contact with the solid-state insulation of the closing switch in such a way that an electrical breakdown occurs as a result of the combined action on the insulation of the closing switch of the voltage pulse and the pressure pulse of the shock wave generated during the electric explosion of the working medium of the EECB.
EFFECT: ensuring multichannel and azimuthal homogeneity of the load circuit connection, which provides low final ohmic resistance and inductance of the closing switch, which are required for efficient switching of a mega-ampere current pulse of the power source into the load with minimal loss in the amplitude of the current.
