FIELD: production of foldable chairs.
SUBSTANCE: foldable chair has frame with tubular cross-piece, and unitary casting attached to each end of cross-piece and provided with leg and back support and, optionally, elbow rests provided through connecting boss made as one piece adapted for insertion into cross-piece and held in place by connecting pin. Back supports are adapted for receiving of back, which is pivotally moved under the action of spring relative to rotary pin between vertical position and position, in which it is inclined backward. Movement of back in inclined position is limited by stop pin provided on back and by limiting slot provided in back support. Seat is mounted on cross-piece in fixed position or for inclining to vertical position. Chairs with seats, which may be inclined, have seat supports equipped with diametrically opposite recesses adapted for receiving of projecting portions of connecting pins. Connecting pins are engageable in sliding relationship with recess sides for axial holding of seat supports in place on cross-piece. Connecting pins are inserted into recess ends in lowered and raised position of seat.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation, wider operational capabilities, provision for convenient seating in many positions, and reduced manufacture costs.
