FIELD: medicine, oncology.

SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out chemotherapy with 5-fluorouracil followed by radiation therapy in combination with platinum-containing preparation for first 3 days of irradiation. Also, treatment involves course of hydroxyurea for 3 days before onset of radiation therapy and for first 2-3 days simultaneously with radiation therapy this preparation is given in the dose 500 mg to patient with weight before 70kg, in the dose 1000 mg to patient with weight above 70 kg, and in the dose 1500 mg to patient with weight above 95 kg by oral route, 2 times per a day with break for 12 h. Platinum-containing preparation is administrated in the daily dose 20, 30 and 40 mg to patients of the same weight category, respectively. Method provides carrying out the effect on tumor cells both in interphase G1-S and in S-phase of in division cellular cycle (mitosis), to reduce population of tumor cells in the resting phase Go and to reduce resistance of tumor to radiation therapy and chemotherapy with reducing risk of toxic symptoms. Invention can be used for treatment of tumors of head, neck, biliary-digestive tract and straight intestine.
