FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, production of hot rolled steel and cold-rolled carbon sheet steel, preferably, for manufacture of saws for cutting of wood, plastics, nonferrous metals and alloys.
SUBSTANCE: method involves melting sheet steel containing, wt%: carbon 0.70-0.90; manganese 0.15-0.65; silicon 0.15-0.65; chromium 0.2-1.2; nickel 0.2-1.5; cobalt 0.15-5.0; iron and admixtures the balance. Steel may be additionally alloyed with one or several components selected from the group comprising, wt%: aluminum 0.002-0.06; boron 0.002-0.007; vanadium 0.05-0.30; tungsten 0.01-0.04; calcium 0.002-0.03; molybdenum 0.05-0.30; niobium 0.01-0.15; titanium 0.01-0.05; zirconium 0.05-0.15. Method further involves pouring steel into blanks having section sufficient for their total relative squeezing to at least 95% during hot rolling procedure until sheet steel is produced having thickness of 3±0.2 mm; providing cold rolling until sheet steel with thickness of 0.9-2.5 mm is produced; cutting sheet steel into strips of width equal to or multiple the width of blanks for manufacture of products; performing final thermal processing of strip to provide for Rockwell C hardness of more than 42. Saws are manufactured from thermally processed strip. Inserts of stellite are welded to saw teeth ends, sharpened and teeth are subjected to thermal processing operation. Steel of said composition may be used for manufacture of various wood-working tools.
EFFECT: improved mechanical properties of sheet steel, increased strength of stellite-steel transition layer of saw teeth with welded stellite inserts and improved strength of welded seam and zone adjoining welded seam, as well as of belt saws.
