FIELD: nuclear engineering; manufacture of radionuclide sources.
SUBSTANCE: enclosed alpha-ray source has titanium case with outlet window and active part. Surface of active part enclosed in case sealed by means of argon-arc welding is covered with coating produced by spraying alcohol solution of silicon oxide, drying, and baking at temperature of 450 - 500°C.
EFFECT: reduced speed of spray on surface of alpha-ray source.
