FIELD: converter engineering; reversible thyristor converters.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for controlling first and second thyristor sets incorporated in antiparallel circuit of reversible thyristor converter includes generation of two wide control-pulse trains symmetrically on both ends of natural switching points at the same time feeding one of them to every two antiparallel thyristors disposed in different sets that connect load circuit to same phase of supply mains depending on polarity of setting current control signal and polarity of load current, and also replacement of mentioned pulse trains on instruction of logic switching device directly upon reversing polarity of load current at instant of first pulse generation for thyristors of set placed in operation with delay time for turning-off thyristors of set put out of operation.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities.
