FIELD: nuclear power engineering; boiling water or once-through reheat reactor.
SUBSTANCE: proposed nuclear reactor has fuel assemblies each made in the form of loose charge of fuel microelements inside vertical can with bottom, intermediate, and top perforated sections of which bottom one is shaped as truncated pyramid and its space communicates with inlet coolant header. Longitudinally mounted inside can are guide tubes for control elements uniformly distributed over cross-sectional area of can. Each fuel assembly is provided with inlet and outlet ball lines running to fuel microelements and also at least one intermediate coolant header. Inlet ball line is connected to upper part of can top section space. Outlet ball line is fitted with cut-off device and connected to lower part of can bottom section space. Intermediate header is formed by bottom and intermediate sections of can, the latter being made in the form of inverted truncated pyramid and by similar sections of cans of adjacent fuel elements.
EFFECT: enhanced critical temperature at reactor outlet which raises its performance characteristics.
