FIELD: quantum electronics; medicine, microelectronic technologies, navigation, scientific research, air sounding.
SUBSTANCE: proposed active element has vacuum-tight case with output windows at ends that accommodates coaxially arranged beryllium ceramic tube bounding laser operating channel with holder placed therein that carries working metal evaporating fittings disposed at regular intervals throughout entire length of holder, and two electrodes. Holder is made in the form of cylinder coaxially arranged relative to vacuum-tight case and has ribs whose height amounts to 0.2 - 0.8 of operating channel radius; total cross-sectional area of ribs is not over 50% of operating channel cross-sectional area; heat insulation is inserted between vacuum-tight case and beryllium ceramic cylinder. Electrodes are made in the form of cylindrical cups joined to vacuum-tight case and filled with copper swarf. In vicinity of operating channel vacuum-tight case is enclosed on outside with heat chamber accommodating at least one temperature sensor and one fan, both electrically connected to temperature control unit.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability, improved power and frequency characteristics of laser; enhanced uniformity of its discharge.
