FIELD: laser technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser technology, namely to the active elements of metal vapor lasers. The active element of a metal vapor laser contains a vacuum-dense shell with two exit windows in the end sections, inside the shell there is a discharge channel with the active substance placed in it, an anode and a cathode. The heat insulator is located between the shell and the channel. On the side of the anode in the end section there is a reservoir with molecular hydrogen and a window made of metal foil, and the reservoir and channel are coaxial.
EFFECT: increase in the stability of the radiation power and, as a consequence, an increase in the durability of the active element.
