FIELD: protection of electronic modules, such as flying data recorders of aircraft and other vehicles in emergency situations.
SUBSTANCE: method includes heat transfer from electronic modules by means of heat-protection mixtures in the course of their electrothermal decomposition; device implementing this method has external case, heat-insulating shell that divides inner space formed by inner surfaces of external case into two parts, heat-insulating mixtures, and means for evacuating gaseous products of decomposition from case. Part of space between inner surfaces of external case and outer surfaces of heat-radiating shell is filled with mixture of sodium carbonate crystalline hydrates and sodium hydrophosphate and part of space between inner surfaces of shell and electronic modules holds mixture of sodium carbonate crystalline hydrates and sodium pentaerythriborate. In addition outer metal surface of external case is coated with swelling fire-proof paint, 0.2 to 2 mm thick, whose swelling ratio is 40 to 100 and swelling origination temperature of minimum 90 and maximum 120° C.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of thermal protection due to continuous heat transfer from electronic modules.
