FIELD: forest assessment, in particular, determination of quality of trunk shape of model tree by circular saw cuts.
SUBSTANCE: method involves providing saw cuts and turning lower part of circular saw cut upward; locating pin in center of annular rings; putting protractor and millimeter rule with their openings made on zero markings onto pin; measuring by means of millimeter rule radius of each annular ring or groups thereof and of the entire saw cut section by turning rule over protractor, for example, in clockwise direction, at an angle to northern direction.
EFFECT: increased precision in measuring radius of tree trunk saw cut of tree trunk in different directions.
