FIELD: forestry, in particular, forest taxation.
SUBSTANCE: method involves turning lower part of circular cut trunk portion up; aligning center of annular rings with center of pattern made from organic glass, onto which concentric circles and radial lines are applied; aligning radial line of zero deviation angle with northern side cut mark; calculating number and width of annular rings. Method is used for determining quality of shape of model tree trunk in logging and wood-working industry, as well as for evaluating of quality of stumps, tree lengths, long logs and logs.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and precise measurement of number of annular rings by different radii, with angle of deviation of measured radius from northern direction being taken into account.
