METHOD FOR CREATING OF HABITAT AND ADAPTATION OF YOUNG OBJECTS OF AQUICULTURE IN WATER ECOSYSTEMS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2236124 C2

FIELD: rearing of valuable fish and crustaceous kinds, in particular, protection and restoration of natural hydrobiont population under changing conditions of habitat medium and biotopic degradation of fishery basins.

SUBSTANCE: method involves providing compact variety of biotopes in local ecosystems for full-system survival of various kinds of hydrobionts; providing compound bottom at depth of about 2 m by creating flow-through and non-flow-type recesses at depth of from 2 m to 5 m at an angle of 15-30 deg to flow direction and semi-permeable and impermeable obstacles; providing anchored floating shelves in zones of depth exceeding 5 m; populating preliminarily prepared biotope with artificially grown hydrobionts by selecting from total mass of hydrobionts starting group of young objects most tolerant to abrupt changes of habitat conditions and preparing said group for discharge into natural basin for fattening, with said selection being provided by method of ethological stress testing; teaching starting group of young hydrobionts for attracting to feeding area by sound signal in ponds or water area of preliminarily prepared biotope for 2-3 weeks; discharging said group for free fattening while periodically fixing habit of stimulus attraction to feeding zone; during the same period, providing second and ultimate discharge of remaining young objects of hydrobionts for joining previously discharged starting group of young objects of hydrobionts.

EFFECT: reduced losses of objects of hydrobionts due to exhaustion during transfer to consumption of natural feed or due to eating up by predatory fish or birds, providing imprinting and forming of homing associations of native basin and, accordingly, increased yield and efficiency of fishing plants on the whole.
