FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaning of formation water produced together with oil and separated therefrom during dewatering processes to be discharged into sea. Method comprises feeding water through destabilizers as ascending flow into settlers to separate water. Destabilization is carried out at specified pressure at inlet of destabilizer. The latter contains convergent tube, mouth, and diffuser made in the form of changeable part from material resistant to cavitation erosion. Plant contains destabilizers, settler, and surge vessel. Settler has additional discharge with reduced diameter and level regulator on gas exit. Surge vessel may have inside receiving candle with specified height having two inclined plates outside.
EFFECT: improved quality of cleaning of formation water.
