FIELD: sonar equipment; navigation of light nuclear submarines.
SUBSTANCE: two fiber coils of fiber-optics interferometer are wound on cylindrical substrate; one substrate is hollow and has constant radius and other coil is solid at radius varying according to Archimedean spiral; said substrates are coaxial; sonar pulses from underwater beacon cause formation of two pulses of photocurrent at interferometer output; distance between these pulse gives information on azimuth angle.
EFFECT: possibility of navigation of submarine in any direction relative to sonar beacon.
