SUBSTANCE: submersible electric motor includes heat exchanger 24 mounted in cavity 3 of housing 1 and being in the form of cylinder 20 with helical groove 21 in outer surface 22 and with through cavity 23. Electric motor also includes manifold 25 placed in cavity 3 of housing 1. Ducts 9 of magnetic circuit 5 of stator 6 are in the form of grooves 26 on cylindrical lateral outer surface 7 of magnetic circuit 5 and they are parallel relative to teeth 8. Return duct 17 passes inside through cavity 23 of heat exchanger 24. Outlets 27 of ducts 9 are communicated with inlet 28 of manifold 25. Outer cylindrical lateral surface 22 of heat exchanger 24 engages with cylindrical lateral surface 4 of cavity 3 of housing 1. Surface 29 of helical groove 21 and portion 30 of cylindrical lateral surface 4 of cavity 3 embraced by surface 29 of helical groove 21 define helical duct 31. Inlet 32 of helical duct 31 is communicated with outlet 33 of manifold 25; outlet 34 of helical duct is communicated with inlet 35 of return duct 17. Length of heat exchanger L = (0.8 -1.2) Lm, where Lm length of magnetic circuit of stator. Surface area of flow-through cross section of helical duct S = (0.8 -1.2) Sm, where Sm total surface area of flow-through cross section of helical grooves in cylindrical lateral outer surface of magnetic circuit of stator. Mean length of cross section of helical groove l = (6 - 8)h, where h - depth of helical groove.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability due to improved heat removal and due to equalizing temperature of separate members of submersible electric motor.
