FIELD: polymerization catalysts.

SUBSTANCE: catalytic composition, which may find use in polymerization of at least one monomer, is prepared by interaction of at least one organometallic compound, at least one organoaluminum compound, and fluorinated solid oxide compound selected from silica or alumina. Process comprises following steps: (i) interaction of solid oxide compound with water containing ammonium bifluoride; (ii) calcination of resulting fluorinated solid oxide compound at 350 to 600оС; (iii) combining calcined composition with bis(4-butylcyclopentadienyl)zirconium chloride at 15-80оС; and (iv) combining, 1 min to 1 h later, mixture obtained in step (iii) with triethylaluminum to give desired composition. Invention also relates to thus obtained catalytic compositions, to polymerization process, and to products. Catalytic compositions according to invention show high activity and allow good quality of polymer particles without appearance of significant crust on reactor walls. Compositions are easily accessible and inexpensive due to absence of any alumoxane and borate compounds. Presence of fluorinated solid oxide compounds results in formation of polymers with higher melt strength and shearing resistance.

EFFECT: increased catalytic activity and improved quality of polymerization products.
