FIELD: radar aids and designed for detection and classification of target according to the symptom of its belonging to the targets being in the zone of single-valued measurement of range pulse radar (in the radar operating zone).

SUBSTANCE: the method is based on incoherent-weight accumulation of a burst of N pulses, comparison of it with a set of image-vectors, calculation of a mutual correlation function and comparison of it with the threshold, it is provided with an operation of target classification according to the symptom of its belonging to the target being in the radar operating zone accomplished by minimization of functional The device has series-connected incoherent-weight accumulator and a threshold device. In addition, the device includes two permanent storages, units of vector multiplication and subtraction, multiplication of vector by scalar, scalar multiplication, selection of the number of the image-vector and a coincidence circuit, the accumulator is made in the form of a vector multiplication unit.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of target detection and expanded functional potentialities by classification of target according to its belonging.
