METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF RECTIFIED ALCOHOL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: production of alcohol such as edible rectified alcohol.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes boiling-off of alcohol from mash in mash column at conversion of ethyl alcohol and accompanying admixtures to mash distillate with vapor from this column, cleaning mash distillate from overhead and intermediate admixtures including fusel oil components in fractionating column at delivery of hot water to its upper plate, rectification of intermediate product in alcohol column at takeoff of fractions of fusel oil, fusel alcohol and non-pasteurized alcohol, distillation of fractions of overhead and intermediate admixtures of ethyl alcohol in distillation column. Fusel alcohol from alcohol column, fractions from condensers of alcohol and methanol columns are directed to upper plate of distillation column. Provision is made for alcohol trap of pure distillates. Hot water is supplied to upper portion of distillation column for hydraulic selection of overhead admixtures, propyl alcohols and other intermediate admixtures which are taken from condenser of this column in form concentrates of overhead admixtures and propyl alcohols. Still liquid of distillation column is directed to supply plate of column for distillation of fusel oil fractions. Hot water and water layer of liquid from fusel oil scrubber are fed to upper plate of column. Fusel oil vapor from alcohol column is directed to vapor space of still and still liquid is fed to upper plate of fractionating column.

EFFECT: improved quality of alcohol.
