FIELD: alcohol production. SUBSTANCE: alcohol is digested from brew in brew column to transfer ethyl alcohol and accompanying admixtures into brew distillate. The latter is freed from head and intermediate impurities including fusel oil components on epuration column involving hydroselection. Epurate is rectified on alcohol column to run off fusel oil fractions, fusel alcohol, and non-pasteurized alcohol. Head and intermediate impurities are distilled on distillation column. Alcohol is digested from brew in digestion section of brew-rectification column, and brew distillate vapors are concentrated with alcohol in concentration section of the same column. Brew distillate is additionally purified by taking off fractions of head impurities from condenser, fusel oil from vapor phase from plates of lower zone of concentration section of brew-rectification column. Brew distillate is withdrawn from liquid phase of top plates of this column. Top zone of distillation column receives fractions from condensers of brew- rectification, epuration, alcohol, and methanol columns and from alcohol trap for pure distillates. These fractions are freed from head impurities, concentrated, and tapped from condenser of distillation column in the form of head fraction concentrate. Bottom section of distillation column receives fusel oil and fusel alcohol fractions from brew-rectification and alcohol columns, fraction from liquid phase of plates disposed over hydroselection water inlet in epuration column, and wash water from fusel oil washer. Fusel oil is taken off from vapor phase of the 5-11th plates in bottom zone of distillation column, concentrate of propyl alcohols is taken off from liquid phase of the plate disposed over intermediate impurity fraction inlet in distillation column, whereas ethyl alcohol fraction is taken off from middle zone of this column and returned into brew.
