FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy control of electrolytic process of production of aluminum in electrolyzers equipped with alumina supply units.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes measurement of voltage at electrolyzer, estimation of concentration of alumina, magnitude of control action and change of rate of delivery of alumina to electrolyte. Change of rate of delivery of alumina is performed at each stage of measurement; two control actions are calculated: proportional deviation of estimation of concentration of alumina from preset magnitude and constant magnitude within 10-50 kg/h with the same sign; maximum magnitude is selected from both magnitudes and rate of delivery of alumina is changed in accordance with magnitude selected. Estimation of concentration of alumina is performed at each stage of measurements by respective formulae.
EFFECT: enhanced stabilization of concentration of alumina; increased yield of aluminum by current.
